Just found your site. Very inspiring info - I hope you continue to write more. I agree with Ada that we have all faced self-esteem challenges, but getting passed them is what matters. Well written article!

This article is really well written and applies to all of us in some form. Even the greatest of us has faced self esteem challenges and it is a hard road to travel and especially hard to divert from. I will be sharing this article.

I am still single and I gotten tremendous pressures from people from family, friends, and others including strangers that I need to tie the knot soon. I found out at a young age that I was told a bunch of lies by people and all about marriage such as if you marry a doctor you will be happy or arrange marriage is more successful than love marriages. I remember as a girl, I heard women say to other women marry the tall, dark, handsome one etc. People are fed rubbish at an early age. It's no wonder we have so many marriage problems worldwide. Marriage is a very important decision and I truly feel that people need to be prepared in order to handle that because I see so many people who did not develop into the person that they should have been, but rather went unprepared. It's one of the reason why many people have failed marriages. I had seen and continue to see people making major mistakes like marrying a person for their looks, status, money, education, popularity, or something. I have also seen really good people turned down because of their looks, height, weight, not being a doctor or wealthy, or other things. I was very lucky that I had discovered the truth and not fall into the trap. I have many people who say to me to take your time and learn from their mistakes. Unfortunately, I know many people will make mistakes and wind up getting divorce. Celebrities have given a false message to society along with other people who just marry for the wrong reasons or don't know what marriage is really about. It's a worldwide problem not just in the west.

Comment on Low Self Esteem – Do You REALLY Know What It Looks Like? by Anonymous

The article hit bulls eye and I wish more men and women would read what you wrote. It seems that even younger children are learning from media and people that you need good looks in order to be valued in society. It's a shame that many people can't be their true nature or be themselves due to pressures. I truly believe eventually these people who value on looks will see the truth. Looks can last for a short time and those people who were just interested in dating people for their good looks will see the truth as well. I know many individuals who constantly upload pictures on their profiles just to boost their self esteem and several of these women are married. The married women I wonder if their spouse would have married them if they weren't attractive? I won't be surprised if marriages don't last due to lack of physical attraction later on the years due to aging. These beautiful people have friends who are just interested in their beauty, not for who they really are and it's just sad that in our world beauty is highly valued than personality, values, and other important things. I also noticed that insecure beautiful women make fun of others in order to make themselves feel better. All I hope the truth gets revealed and that beautiful women face reality than living some fantasy.
